There is a new weapon emerging as a means of violating your 4th Amendment Right
to protection against "Illegal Search and Seizure." The innocent looking item pictured
below is actually a 'Passive Alcohol Sensor' disguised as a flashlight.

Its only purpose is to secretly capture the air you breath so that it may be tested for
traces of alcohol vapor. This violation of your Constitutional Rights is conducted at
roadside check points without your permission, knowledge, or any probable cause.

[More information on defeating check-points and this device can be found on the DAMM Reminder Card.]
What about the roadblock - checkpoints themselves? Not since the fall of the Soviet Union have check points been so widely accepted as they have been here, in the United States of America.

As citizens have become more aware of their rights concerning 'Probable Cause' for search and seizure, legislators have responded by passing additional laws involving further violations of your Constitutional Rights. Rather than arguing the Constitutionality of random roadblocks, a new type of roadblock simply requires an officer to claim that 'he' did not observe a seat belt. This allows law enforcement to invade your personal vehicle to claim further possible infractions i.e., the smell of alcohol.

The New England Journal of Medicine has reported that, "The use of a cellular phone while operating a motor vehicle is as dangerous as driving with a .10 BAC.

So what's next - roadblock checkpoints for cellular phones, reading material or cosmetics. Before you dismiss the possibility, consider that laws and fines for all of the above are currently in force in many jurisdictions around the United States. Recently, Montgomery County, Maryland legislators passed a law which made it illegal to smoke cigarettes in your own home, it carries a fine of course, $750.00.

As police departments further their development of
surveillance with military technology,
and as political corruption becomes more and more commonplace, every American needs to understand that any violation of Constitutional Rights is an act of aggression against all of its Citizens.

President John F. Kennedy warned that, "...the rights of every man are diminished
when the rights of one man are threatened!
"
